Iris - Goo Goo Dolls

The Goo Goo Dolls initially consisted of John Rzeznik
(vocals, guitar), Robby Takac (vocals, bass guitar)
and George Tutuska (drums, percussion).

Firstly they name their band "Sex Maggots". Because of the reason the local
newspaper could not print their current name , they change based on
a True Detective ad for a toy called a Goo Goo Doll.George Tutuska was replaced by Mike Malinin in 1995.

In 1998, Rzeznik wrote a song for the City of Angels
soundtrack "Iris". He wrote the lyrics in just under five minutes and
composed it in about an hour's time.

This single stayed on top of Billboard Hot 100 Airplay charts for
a record breaking 18 weeks, and was nominated for three Grammys that year.

The Goo Goo Dolls have announced recording sessions for a new album, on their official website,
unrelated to their Volume Two in 2008.

On July 2, 2008, the Goo Goo Dolls released a new s
ingle called "Real" which is released on the AT&T USA Olympic Team
soundtrack and also the Theme Song For WWE Tribute To The Troops 2008
